Karnataka: Govt Preparing Online database of HealthCare Professionals

A major initiative has been taken by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare department like never before. The Central government is ready to launch soon an online portal having all the healthcare personnel data across India.

The Karnataka health department has initiated the compilation of the data of all healthcare personnel in the state. The online portal will have all the necessary information required before getting treatment from the doctors. This initiative will help the patients to have more faith in their doctors. for

The online portal is expected to be launched by June 15 under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. The process to compile the data is underway. After complete compiling of the data, it will be sent to the ministry to be uploaded on the portal. The initiative has been taken to make India a global platform in the healthcare sector.

A senior officer from the health department told TNIE “The online repository will help external stakeholders like patients and recruiters from India or abroad to search for a required professional based on the speciality or system of medicine, languages known, and country they prefer to work in. Meanwhile, the government has also assured data security. The personal information provided will be authenticated by UIDAI, while registration details will be verified by the respective councils.”

After the launch of the online portal doctors or other health professionals from any field would be able to register themselves and provide information related to their educational qualifications, languages, exams given in a specific country, achievements, awards, and useful information needed to get a job outside India. The health professionals will also be able to select a specific country to work in.

A number of regulatory bodies have already begun collaborating with the National Health Authority on the compilation of healthcare professional data, including – the National Medical Commission, Dental Council of India, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, National Commission for Homoeopathy, Indian Nursing Council, Pharmacy Council of India and National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions.
