NHEV Team join after COVID19 asks to resume pilot: Abhijeet Sinha

After financial launch in March 2020, imposed lockdown halted pilot and construction both for 6 months. Thu, 1st Oct NHEV team joined NHEV program office.

New Delhi, 1st Oct 2020 National Highway for Electric Vehicle (NHEV) working team joined back programme office physically at New Delhi from work from home and long leaves. COVID19 lockdown impacted many development projects and majority of them who were in the initial stage couldn’t keep themselves unaffected and scrapped either because investors pulled out or made losses before beginning operations.

‘I am glad to see NHEV saved itself from the economic impact that COVID19 lockdown caused and made no financial losses since survey and construction was about to begin after its financial model launch in March. But obviously due to restrictions on construction and movement after March now it’s 2 quarters delayed. I welcome back its team at EoDB Program secretariat and wish them all the very best to bounce back on Highways says Abhijeet Sinha, Program Director Ease of Doing Business ASSAR and Project Director NHEV (Adnl. Charge) he added that the team has requested to start the trial run from Oct end to complete by 25th Dec 2020 on the birth anniversary of Late Atal Ji; as these 2 E-highways are dedicated to him, his office is looking into possibilities to approve this trail run.

‘ We are excited to see it getting done now, being associated with India’s first e-highway is everyone’s pride in our team. We worked from home and remote locations during these months and I see everyone has returned office with brilliant ideas to compensate this time loss. I am sure we shall get approvals for trial run very soon’ says Mr. Apurv Brahmbhatt, Team Member, Working Group, National Highway from Electric Vehicles (NHEV).

‘ NHEV working group and program team has people from various regulatory, certification bodies, consulting firms, media houses, EV companies, component suppliers and government. I joined last month to coordinate this post Covid wakeup call but it was exciting to see their prompt response and preparedness. It’s interesting to see the getting back to office and at work online via VC and other virtual platforms after COVID says Sarah Raza, a Project Officer level resource in NHEV team at Project Director office.
